Hey,
Well i got Guild Wars and noticed no pking like challenging someone to a duel and staking some items and fighting?.

is this in the game or have i made the wrong choice of a game?

Yes, there is no pking, only organised PvP in teams. Isn't it wonderful?

You can't go off into the "Wildy" and "PK" like RuneScape *rolleyes*.

You can have PvP battles, ie get together with friends/random epopel and fight other frieds/random poeple, or have guild wars.

You played RYL? that is a good game to go buy it has an awesome pking system guild wars needs it :P

Hmmmm, I dont know what to say, besides YOUR WRONG

If a dueling system was ever add in, it would have to be "nothing gained, nothing lost" system. GW is after all a team balanced game.

Guildwars is a very good competitive online game... its not like FFO or RUNESCAPE be a higher lvl and PK ppl and laugh at them... its all about fair gaming so lv 20 is highest~ getting to lv 20 is when the game TRULY begins

open the game~! play! AND ENJOY!

trust me its not a bad game just cuz theres no ub3r pvp humiliation its still very competitive and fun playing with a group/clan or however u want to call it~

The whole conversation does go a long way to show how much "pvp" means "yay I get to gank noobs" to a certain mindset though.

I'm loving this implementation more every moment.

exactly.

dueling is all about who just ground for a month to buy an uber sword of pwnage, or armor with insane resists to everything...pvp in guild wars is about fairness, strategy, and pitting oppenents against each other on a level playing field.

Who said i would only fight the weak?
im talking lvl to lvl no one goes for the higher lvl beating down on a lower lvl.
its the competition on killing someone that is equal to you.

They may add 4 member select teams (along with the 4 member random teams). If they do then each member could personally challange an opponent to a duel.
I doubt they will add less that 4 member teams outside of the initial area.

Guild Wars has structured player v player. There is no ambushing someone while they're fighting a mob somewhere. There is no 1v1 dueling. There is a variety of team based player v player, however.

The arena is random teams, the tomb is pickup groups mostly, and there is the guild battle action. Team sizes range from 4v4 to 8v8, and work together against their opponents.

PvP in Guild wars isn't necessarily about being self-sufficient, but about effectively playing your role in a team.

The original poster is looking for some type of arena setting for 1v1 PvP with mutual arranged fighting. Unfortunately GW is about building a team balance for PvP so no single PC is a perfect tanker.

I do forsee someone setting up guilds just to let PvP 1v1 take place. Who says everyone needs to fight each other?

i just got done reading the fat @$$ manual...

and it appears as though there will be 1 and 1 in the underworld, and spirits may assist or hinder you. depending on ure rep.

Those fights would last hours, until one person decides to quit of boredom.
